Star Wars: Project Maverick To Be Revealed Next Week – Rumour

EA Motive might be gearing up to reveal their "unique" Star Wars title soon.

Star Wars Project Maverick

That EA Motive – the developers of the Star Wars Battlefront 2 campaign – are working on what they’re calling on a “very unique” new Star Wars project has been known for a while, and in recent months, more info on that project – reportedly codenamed Project Maverick – has been emerging through leaks.

And it seems the studio is getting ready to reveal that game in full very soon. They recent made their official Twitter account, and the responses to their first tweet by certain people hint at an upcoming reveal. GamesBeat’s Jeff Grubb responded to it with a gif from the film, Top Gun: Maverick (emphasis on the subtitle, of course). Meanwhile, responses by Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier were much more direct, with Schreier remarking in one tweet that EA Motive are preparing to announce their new game, and clarifying in another tweet afterward that that new game is the Star Wars project they’ve been working on.

So what’s the date we can expect the game to be revealed? Well, connecting some dots will lead you to June 2 as the likeliest date. Grubb has been teasing and leaking upcoming announcements for a while, and of late, he’s been mentioning a June 2 announcement with nothing but “Mel Gibson picture”- and most likely, the picture he’s referring to is the 1994 film called – you guessed it – Maverick.

It’s all a bunch of conjecture and unconfirmed reports right now, but it does seem likely nonetheless. EA have their annual EA Play scheduled for June 11, where they’ll likely be sharing new info on their upcoming games, and a teaser trailer reveal for Project Maverick on June 2 followed by a full reveal a week afterward doesn’t seem that much of a stretch.

Either way, stay tuned, and we’ll keep you updated on any new info that comes our way.
