Thunderful’s SteamWorld Heist 2 is the next title in the critically acclaimed series, venturing to Carribea as Captain Leeway and his crew investigate a mysterious crisis. The classic precision-based turn-based combat returns, but it also features a Job system for equipping characters with any weapon and mixing and matching abilities.

According to the official announcement post, over 150 guns, utility items, and ship equipment are included, providing a wide degree of choice. Ship equipment will likely be handy during the new real-time naval combat as players explore the overworld and take down enemy vessels. Of course, you won’t just be dealing with other ships – there are also enemy strongholds to raid and garner “valuable loot” from.

After enough combat, you can visit a bar and relax, upgrade items and crew members and even recruit new allies. SteamWorld Heist 2 launches on August 8th for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch (while also coming to Game Pass on day one). Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
