Steelrising

Spiders’ action RPG Steelrising is set to release this Summer. To provide a better idea of the combat and customization, some new gameplay has been released by Game Informer. It sees Aegis running around in alternative history Paris, fighting off the various automatons of Louis XVI.

Combat appears to be very Souls-like with some elements of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice thrown in. Aegis can equip several different weapons like muskets and fans, the latter even serving as shields in opportune moments. She can also equip a grappling hook to get around, though the developer did confirm fast travel for quickly navigating the various areas in Paris.

Along with the main bosses – who are all described as unique and much more clever than your average foe – there are also side areas with their own bosses and rewards (along with different allies that can be found). A brief look at the loot which Aegis can equip, like different coats for improving armor, is also seen.

Steelrising releases in June for Xbox Series X/S and PS5 (though the Steam release is listed for December). Stay tuned for more details and gameplay in the meantime.
