Developer Shift Up has announced that its upcoming third-person action game, Stellar Blade, has officially gone gold. The studio made the announcement through a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

“We’re a little late with this post,” said the studio in the post alongside a picture of the game’s development team. “GONE GOLD.”

Essentially, this means that the primary development work on Stellar Blade has been completed, and that the game is now ready to be pressed on discs that will be sold at retail. Any work that is done on the base game now will arrive in the form of pre-launch or day one patches.

While the main development work on Stellar Blade has been completed, the studio is still working on ironing out some of the game’s kinks. Director Kim Hyung-Tae revealed that Stellar Blade will be getting a day one patch with “some updates”. While the content of these updates is currently unknown, day one patches tend to focus on fixing some bugs that missed the deadline before the game went gold.

Stellar Blade is coming to PS5 on April 26, and is priced at $70. The action game puts players in the shoes of Airborne Squad member Eve as she arrives on Earth to battle the Naytiba. The developer has stated that Stellar Blade will take around 25 hours to complete, with play time getting extended if players go around looking for collectibles. There will also be a New Game Plus mode down the line.
