Shift Up’s Stellar Blade isn’t out yet, but the developer is already prepping for post-launch. Speaking to RULIWEB (translation via Genki on Twitter), director Kim Hyung-tae confirmed that future updates will add New Game Plus and new costumes.

Hyung-tae stated there are no microtransactions at launch, and that still holds. However, they will be added if the development team collaborates with other IPs for new costumes. “We want to make it clear at this point that Stellar Blade will not require any additional expenses that gamers aren’t aware of beyond what they paid for the package.

“The only exception is if we create collaboration costumes with another company’s IP, those may be sold for a fee.” New Game Plus will be added “very soon,” so stay tuned for news immediately after launch.

Stellar Blade launches on April 26th for PS5, with a free demo available now. The latter contains the beginning portions and a special Boss Challenge mode. Progress carries over to the game, so it’s worth checking out for those who want a head start. Check out some new gameplay here if you’re curious about what’s beyond the demo.

It’s unclear how long Shift Up will support Stellar Blade, especially when it’s begun hiring for a new “triple-A urban sci-fi action RPG” for consoles, PC and mobile. Head here for more details.
