Earlier today we got a tease that the long running Street Fighter 5 would get some kind of “exciting” news. You probably had some tempered expectations going into that, because the general belief seemed to be that the game’s support had largely ended. Well, Capcom issued a surprise strike with news that the game will receive a fifth season pass.

As announced via their blog, Capcom confirmed that the support will continue. The pass will add 5 new characters, as well as 3 new stages. There is no time frame or details passed that, only that they will give more information this summer. A costume contest is also planned, which you can find more information about at the blog link above.

Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition released earlier this year and collected all the previous DLC content (sans a few sponsored costumes that were delisted). It was assumed that would be the big, final edition of the game, but apparently Capcom isn’t ready to leave this battle just yet.
