Street Fighter 5’s “Natural Home” is on PlayStation – PlayStation UK Head

Fergal Gara talks about Capcom's fighting game coming to the PS4.

Street Fighter 5

Capcom revealed at the recent PlayStation Experience that Street Fighter 5 would be exclusive to the PS4 (though it would also be on PC). Needless to say, there was plenty of discussion about the same especially since it mirrored Microsoft’s (timed) exclusive publishing of Rise of the Tomb Raider for Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Speaking to IGN, PlayStation UK boss Fergal Gara talked about the exclusivity deal. “I wasn’t involved, so how it came about I can’t comment on, but I think it’s another fantastic example of how our heritage provides some fantastic opportunities not just to reminisce but to look forward as well.

“Obviously it’s a classic from earlier PlayStation days, but now it’s being reintroduced for the PS4 era. It was a huge hit on PlayStation, so I guess you could say Street Fighter’s natural home is on PlayStation. Now, I’m delighted that’s going to happen again in this cycle.”

Street Fighter 5 will be out in 2015 for the PS4 and PC with cross-platform play.
