Street Fighter 6 - Akuma

Capcom’s Street Fighter 6 will receive its fourth DLC character this month with the legendary Akuma. As part of the Year 1 Character Pass, the Satsui no Hado master is older and meaner, sporting new and familiar moves to devastate enemies. A new character guide is available to outline his moveset – check it out below.

Many of Akuma’s moves from previous entries, including Gou Hadouken, which can now be charged on the ground, and Ashura Senku for closing the distance. Adamant Flame is new – a fiery one-two punch that advances Akuma. The Heavy version of this is worth noting since you’re safe from retaliation. Meanwhile, the Overdrive version is arguably more potent, sending your opponent into a wall and leaving them open to further combos.

Demon Raid is another new move and sees Akuma leaping into the air before following up with other attacks. He’ll perform Demon Low Slash without any other outputs, but there are several possibilities. Press Punch for an overhead attack called Demon Guillotine, or use the Overdrive version to land right in front of your opponent, regardless of distance.

Akuma joins the roster on May 22nd – head here to check out his main theme, and stay tuned for more details. Street Fighter 6 is available for Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC. Check out our review for the base game. Though Akuma is the final character of Year 1, Capcom has confirmed Year 2 DLC is in the works.
