Street Fighter X Tekken PS Vita: Release Date Set, Cross Platform Play Featured

Posted By | On 12th, Jul. 2012

If the upcoming Street Fighter X Tekken PS Vita trailer, which detailed all the new features, wasn’t enough, it’s release date is confirmed to be October 23, 2012.

Apparently some more new features are being detailed, but one of the more interesting ideas if cross-play functionality. Playstation 3 and PS Vita players can now compete against each other in online battles.

It’s already known that purchasing the PS Vita version can net two free download codes, one code for the 12 new characters and the second offering free alternate costumes for the original 38 characters. You can also share this DLC between the PS3 and PS Vita versions. However, these free download codes will only be available in the first run of retail copies.

Street Fighter X Tekken for PS Vita also features augmented reality picture taking, ad-hoc battles, competitive play and four player Scramble fights over wireless. You can also pick up on customized data cards and exchange them between the PS3 and Vita.
