Reports about Nintendo’s recently released Super Smash Bros. Ultimate breaking sales record have been coming in thick and fast. Considering how strongly it has been performing in the UK over the past two weeks, it was clear that Ultimate was selling strongly across Europe (though that could have been easily predicted regardless), but Nintendo have now confirmed just how well it’s performing.
Nintendo UK’s official Twitter page has announced that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has become the fastest selling game Nintendo have ever put out on a home console in all of Europe- which means from the days of the NES right up until now, with the Switch. That, of course, suggests that besides UK, Smash Ultimate has been selling strongly in other major European markets as well, including Germany, France, Spain, and many others.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has been selling excellently in the rest of the world as well. In Japan, it topped weekly sales charts with sales of nearly 1.3 million in just three days, while in the US, it has sold over 3 million copies within 11 days of launch (and also become the fastest selling Smash Bros. game in the region). Head on over to our review to see what all the fuss is about (other than the fact that it’s a Smash Bros. game, of course).
