The demise of local multiplayer

The demise of local multiplayer

A separate rant here from my point about online communities, I feel that the boon of online multiplayer experiences has done as much harm as it has done good for social gaming. Whilst it is used by reputable titles as a way to bolster your choice of multiplayer opponents, other games use it as an alternative to local play. Talk about taking two steps back and one step forward. What's the point of multiplayer gaming if the buddy sitting next to you can't join in as well? Let's just hope developers start to get a clue and include split-screen and online play together more regularly.
