Ubisoft aren’t done with The Division 2 just yet. They recently confirmed that the 2019 looter shooter would continue to receive support and content updates throughout 2021, and in a recent update, they elaborated on that, giving us a brief idea of what that should look like.

The game’s next major update, which is still in early development, will release late this year “at the earliest”. In addition to bringing about  changes to the progression that focus on build variety and viability, the update will also add a completely new game mode to the game that the franchise hasn’t seen in the past. Adrian Trasca and Yannick Banchereau will continue to lead the game as producer and associate creative director respectively.

Meanwhile, Ubisoft have also confirmed in this same update that The Division series collectively now has over 40 million players.

The Division 2 is available on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia. It is also playable on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S via backward compatibility, and also sports some pretty significant visual and performance enhancements.

Massive Entertainment is currently also at work on a couple of other projects, including an Avatar game and an open world Star Wars title, though the former is still in petty early development.
