The Division Dev to Tweak Dark Zone Rogue Penalties, Server Maintenance Times

Less punishment for dying could equal more PvP rogues in the future.

Tom Clancy's The Division

Ubisoft Massive has wrapped up a successful maintenance period for Tom Clancy’s The Division and has revealed some updates for the game’s future on its State of the Game Twitch stream.

There hasn’t been enough players killing other players so the developer is looking at how to fix that. One possible solution, as has been suggested by the community, is to reduce the penalties for dying while rogue. As of now, there’s very little benefit to go rogue for the sake of DZ Credits or experience considering how much can be lost (think 1600 credits gained vs. 87K lost on the higher levels).

Don’t expect some of the tougher parts of PvE – like the shotgun Rushers – to become easier. The developer has instead advised players to make effective use of strategies and skills to beat them (and it is possible, unless you’re soloing Challenge Mode).

Finally, Massive will also look at perhaps wrapping up its weekly server maintenance quicker, perhaps reducing it from three hours. Thoughts on all this? Let us know in the comments.
