Tom Clancy’s The Division is heading to the big screen. Ubisoft Motion Pictures has finally announced the films production and noted that it would feature the involvement of Jessica Chastain and Jake Gyllenhaal. It was also noted that Gyllenhaal’s Nine Stories and Chastain’s Freckle Films production houses will also be working on the film’s development.

Gerard Guillemot, chief executive of Ubisoft Motion Pictures, noted that, “We are excited to collaborate with Jessica and Jake, two of Hollywood’s most talented actors and perfect creative collaborators to help bring Tom Clancy’s The Division to the big screen.

Vice president Matt Phelps noted that, “Attaching Jake and Jessica is part of our development philosophy of working closely with top talent from the earliest stages to collaborate on a high quality film.”

The Division has been incredibly successful Ubisoft, becoming one of the biggest new IP launches of this decade. The post-launch period has been less than ideal with numerous bugs, nerfs and a ho-hum DLC with Underground but the future is still fairly bright.
