The Division Forum Mod Says Community Toxicity is “Biggest Problem Right Now”

Apparently the biggest issue lies between "the haves and have-not's."

Ubisoft Massive went about detailing the changes coming in the next patch 1.2 for Tom Clancy’s The Division. As usual, there were people who were okay with the changes and there were those annoyed by the talent balancing that would affect the guns they spent hours grinding on. For the most part, people stayed cautiously optimistic.

However, there will be people who still have legitimate gripe with the game and want some kind of official communication from the developer on issues. For better or worse, Ubisoft mod DigitalHitmann took the opportunity to state that a good amount of content was coming. However, he also stated “community toxicity” as the biggest problem right now.

“The biggest problem right now is the community toxicity, the haves and have-not’s. People are upset because some players who, may or may not have, dedicated the time to rank up and grind out gear pre-patch are overbearing to those who dont have the time to spare.”

Furthermore, he stated that, “My point is, everyone finds enjoyment in the title in different ways. If we cater to everyone, it doesn’t help everyone in the end. There has to be a common ground where we can all agree on certain things and what is ‘fair’, and I firmly believe that when v1.2 Conflict arrives, alot of those issues will be addressed and taken care of.

“The team wants to be more transparent with you guys, and they read your comments as much as they can between here, social media and Reddit. They are listening, they just might not be as vocal as you would like them to be about it.”

Which sounds all well and dandy but perhaps blaming “community toxicity” when a good many things aren’t working, not to mention how plenty of “haves” got to that point by exploiting the Falcon Lost Incursion on different occasions, isn’t a good idea? Or is this just a situation where players need any reason to get upset at the developer?

The mod also stated that, “I know everything is not sunshine and roses right now, and im not going to try to tell you otherwise. That’s why there are patches and updates in the first place. Creating community toxicity though by arguing with one another is not going to address them faster than they are already being addressed.”

What are your thoughts on the same? Let us know in the comments.

Update: DigitalHitmann took to Reddit to respond and said that, “As I stated in my original post I am just a normal player, such as yourselves, with a passion and commitment to this title. My opinions and statements do not reflect those of Ubisoft, MASSIVE Entertainment, Ubisoft Annecy, Ubisoft Reflections, or any other studio that may have worked on the title. I am a volunteer selected from the community to help.”
