The Division Has 44 Million Unique Players, Ranks 3rd in Recurring Spending

The MMO/shooter has been a strong success.

During Ubisoft’s year-end fiscal earnings call to investors – where the company announced that Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry 5 and The Crew 2 would be coming before FY 18 ends – CEO Yves Guillemot also revealed some interesting figures on Tom Clancy’s The Division.

The game now has 44 million unique players with 150 percent growth in less than 18 months. As per Guillemot, games like this have led to the company to dedicate more resources to live content such as expansions. Guillemot noted that in terms of recurring spending, The Division ranked third behind Rainbow Six: Siege and The Crew. Specific figures were not provided.

It’s worth noting that the number of unique players doesn’t reflect the current active player base. Even if the number of paying customers wasn’t confirmed, we do know The Division was one of the most successful games last year, not to mention an extremely successful new IP.
