Tom Clancy's The Division

To help improve on player experience and further ensure the viability on patches like the upcoming patch 1.4, Ubisoft Massive has announced a Public Test Server for Tom Clancy’s The Division in the “near future”.

Public Test Server or PTS is used by major companies like Blizzard Entertainment to roll out patches and updates before they go live for the general population. Such has been the case with games like Overwatch, Diablo 3 and World of Warcraft.

As for why it’s limited to PC, it comes down to being able to make changes as quickly as possible. Community developer Yannick Banchereau noted on Reddit that, “PC allows us to iterate and patch as much as we want. We wouldn’t get that kind of flexibility on consoles.”

While it may be a while before the PTS actually goes live, it’s a step in the right direction to helping The Division. What are your thoughts on the announcement? Let us know below.
