The Division Update 1.8

Tom Clancy’s The Division has seen its biggest resurgence yet with update 1.8 which added the new Resistance mode, plenty of new gear and arrived on the cusp of the latest Global Event. The event brought access to four more Classified Gear Sets (think Diablo 3’s Ancient varieties of sets). However, players have been complaining for a while now about the poor drop rate of Classified Sets, both in the event and outside of it.

In a new State of the Game stream, Ubisoft Leamington game designer James Norris discussed some of the changes that would be coming to the end-game. For instance, Classified Gear Sets will have their drop rates buffed to 6 percent from 3 percent. Season Pass Supply Drops also have a 10 percent chance of giving a Classified item.

Even better is the fact that there will only be 1500 Token Caches during Global Events (no more 900 Token Caches). There will also be specific caches for Classified Gear Sets with four caches corresponding to each set available at the time. Finally, a Classified Cache will be available outside of the event for 2500 Phoenix Credits and guarantees a Classified item drop.

Furthermore, to make Resistance bosses more appealing for farming during Global Events, their Token rewards have been increased to 100. You can read more about the changes coming to end-game here which also include Exotics being added to the Light Zone bosses. These won’t be available immediately so stay tuned for more information on these changes.
