The Game Awards

The Game Awards will be returning this year on December 12th. Host and organizer Geoff Keighley announced that the show would take place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California. Tickets are currently on sale for those who want to attend live.

Keighley revealed in a message on Twitter that, “This year’s show will celebrate the act of creation, as I turn the stage over to a group of visionary teams selected to share their new projects with you.” It will be the fifth anniversary show, which makes the occasion even more momentous.

The Game Awards began in 2014 following efforts like the Spike Video Game Awards and VGX. It quickly grew in prominence and began hosting numerous world premieres, exclusive gameplay reveals and new announcements. Last year’s event alone saw the debut of the Epic Games Store, the announcement of Persona 5’s Joker in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, a teaser for the next Dragon Age and much, much more.

What could this year possibly have in terms of announcements? Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks/months to find out.
