The Last Guardian is “Still in Development” – Sony

In case any one was wondering after the recent trademark cancellation.

The Last Guardian

Though its trademark for The Last Guardian expired yesterday, which isn’t the first time this has happened to Sony’s long-awaited adventure title, there was genuine concern again that the game was still a ways off from release. Does this mean it’s cancelled?

Not really but that didn’t stop Sony from telling GameSpot once again that “it can confirm that the Last Guardian is still in development.” No further details were given because of course they wouldn’t be. That would make sense at this point.

The Last Guardian was first revealed in 2009 and was to release for the PlayStation 3. It’s since gone through several delays with Team ICO director and designer Fumito Ueda leaving the studio but staying on as a consultant. Not much headway was made since then though Sony has confirmed again and again that the game hasn’t been cancelled.

What are your thoughts on The Last Guardian at this point? Let us know in the comment.
