The Last of Us Part 1

After a long wait, The Last of Us Part 1 is now available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Unfortunately, players have reported issues like crashing, long loading times and more. These have caused the Steam user review score to plummet to a “Mostly Negative” rating.

Naughty Dog is aware of the same and published a list of known issues, including shaders taking longer to load than expected, performance and stability degrading while shaders load in the background, a potential memory leak and more. There are also issues with older graphics drivers leading to instability or the game failing to load even if you meet the minimum requirements.

The developer is working on patches and will provide updates “as they become available.” Players are encouraged to submit tickets for any other issues encountered.

The Last of Us Part 1 isn’t the first PlayStation exclusive ported to PC to face issues. Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition required months of support to fix, and Returnal recently launched with its share of problems. Stay tuned for more details on Naughty Dog’s title in the meantime.
