the last of us part 2

When we got an extended look at The Last of Us Part 2 back at E3 2018, the gameplay that we saw showed Ellie relying on her bow quite a bit, and being pretty proficient with it, too. So we know by now that Ellie, who will be the primary protagonist this time around, will find the bow to be quite an efficient weapon.

In fact, Ashley Johnson, who plays the character, specifically improved her real skills with a bow, to help her with the shooting of the second game. During an episode of Retro Replay, where she played through a part of the game with Troy Baker (who plays Joel) and Nolan North (who played David in The Last of Us and Nathan Drake in the Uncharted series), she said that she is “good with the bow”, and that that “came from wanting to get at better at that skill for… I don’t know if I can say this… for the second game.” You can view the whole episode below.

The Last of Us Part 2 is out exclusively for the PS4 on May 29.
