After complaints regarding bugs in multiplayer, including matchmaking times, Naughty Dog has released a new patch for The Last of Us: Remastered in North America and Europe (with the UK to follow shortly). Weighing in at 142 MB, the patch will provide, “Matchmaking updates to improve long wait times some players have experienced to find a match.”
Community strategist Arne Meyer further stated that, “Things have definitely improved but there still remains work for us to get the matchmaking experience where we feel it should be. Patch 1.02 is our latest effort to continuing improving the matchmaking experience.”
The developer will continue “keeping a close eye on the time it takes to find a match among our player community so we can continue to address this issue.” He also offers one suggestion which, while not ideal, may help to shorten your wait: Should you be waiting in matchmaking for a long time, back out and restart the search. Even though this adds an extra step, we’ve found that it sometimes helps players get into matches quicker than continuing to wait.”
