The Last of Us Screenshots Showcase the Gorgeous Apocalypse

So pretty the end of the world is.

Naughty Dog released some new screenshots for their upcoming PS3 exclusive title, The Last of Us and once again they showcase the beauty and depth that the game has become so well known for. Seriously, this is how you convey emotion – and not just with more polygons.

From scenes with the Infected to the close-up details of Joel and Ellie, there are plenty of crisp visuals to be had. One scene showcases the titular duo on horses – maybe there’ll be a set piece where horse back riding comes into play?

The fungus like infection that caused the apocalypse sets the tone for The Last of Us’s story, and Joel and Ellie travel across the United States, avoiding scavengers and US Military as they go along. Needless to say, we’re intrigued to see how everything pans out.

The Last of Us is publishing by Sony Computer Entertainment and will release on June 14th 2013 worldwide.
