The Last of Us “Wasteland Beautiful” Trailer Looks at the Beautiful Wastelands

Naughty Dog showcases their own definition of "destroyed beauty".

Sony has released a new trailer for Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us, showcasing the wastelands of the United States of America following the catastrophic apocalypse that has unleashed a fungus virus that turns people into mindless creatures. But hey, it’s really, really pretty in retrospect.

The video showcases the ruins of the country as cities are overrun by nature, military police prowl entire states, black markets thrive and the Infected wander the dark and lonely countryside in search of new victims. However, thanks to the technology that Naughty Dog uses, the game is beautiful enough to make you forget all that.

Until Ellie warns you of an Infected nibbling on your shoulder that is.

The Last of Us is slated to release on June 14th for the PlayStation 3. It may possible cross over onto the PlayStation 4 in the coming days but that remains to be decided after the game’s release for the current generation.
