As promised, Daedalic Entertainment revealed a new trailer for The Lord of the Rings: Gollum. It’s cinematic and doesn’t feature new gameplay but highlights some of the emotional struggles that the titular protagonist will have to deal with. Should he avoid the Orcs or take them out instead? The choice is yours, though Gollum obviously goes with murder.

Of course, this plays into the gameplay as Gollum has two personalities, one encouraging him to take a sneakier approach while the latter is all about violence. Which voice the player listens to ultimately determines their approach and how the story plays out. Gollum is fairly agile, allowing one to navigate environments and get the drop on foes or bypass them entirely.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum releases in 2022 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch. It’s currently aiming to release next Fall so stay tuned for more details and gameplay in the coming months.
