The Medium

Bloober Team has more in store for Xbox Series X than simply bringing Observer: System Redux over. It announced The Medium, a new psychological horror game that will release this holiday season. Along with Xbox Series X, it will also be included with Xbox Game Pass and release for PC.

The focus for The Medium is “perspective and perception” according to Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno. “When you change your point of view, you discover that things are more complicated and nuanced than you initially thought. The Medium is our most ambitious game ever and we can’t wait to show you how we’re translating this vision into a psychological horror.”

The story is about a medium who sees visions of a child being murdered. Drawn to an abandoned hotel, you slowly begin to unravel the mystery that took place. Along with traversing the real world, you’ll also enter the spirit realm, which is where the game’s different perspective comes into play. This is also likely how the dual soundtrack works with legendary Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka working with Arkadiusz Reikowski of Bloober Team.

Stay tuned for more details on The Medium in the coming months. You can also check an interview with game producer Jacek Zieba below.
