The ending for Final Fantasy 7 sees Sephiroth being defeated and Meteor destroyed with the Lifestream. However, the post-credits scene is interesting because it jumps forward 500 years. Red XIII is seen with two cubs running along the landscape. Eventually, they overlook Midgar which has been overrun by vegetation. The planet appears to be doing great but what happened to Cloud and co.? This wouldn’t be revealed until Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children, the CG movie which takes place two years after the game. So what happened in the next 498 years that saw Midgar falling into this state? Your guess is as good as ours.
