We’ve been hearing about psychological horror title The Outlast Trials for some time now. Developer Red Barrels announced the prequel back in late 2019, but since then, we haven’t seen an awful lot of it. Last year, the game was delayed from its previously announced 2021 launch window into 2022, and now, after another period of radio silence from Red Barrels, we’ll finally be getting another look at the game.

Gamescom Opening Night Live’s host and producer Geoff Keighley recently took to Twitter and announced that The Outlast Trials will take the stage at the show on August 23. Details on what will be shown off are scant- all he says is that it’ll be “a brand new look”- which, after the long wait that Outlast fans have endured, is bound to come as a bit of a relief.

The Outlast Trials will be joined by a number of high profile titles to be shown off at Gamescom Opening Night Live. So far, several have been confirmed for the show, including the likes of Gotham Knights, Hogwarts Legacy, The Callisto Protocol, Sonic Frontiersand more.
