Developers Frogwares first announced their Lovecraftian open world psychological horror The Sinking City back in 2016, and have been pulling back the curtain bit by bit ever since to show us more and more of the game and what it entails. Just recently, in fact, a new gameplay video for the game was released that featured some… face tentacles (you know, par for the course for a Cthulhu game).
Now, another new gameplay video for the game has been released, and it’s a pretty meaty one. The 12 minute demo showcases a side quest in The Sinking City in its entirety, accompanied by background narration from the developers. The side quests sees the protagonist embroiled in a quest to investigate the circumstances around a poor librarian whose mouth has literally been sewn shut.
The open world environments, mechanics involving looking for clues and investigation, as well as the insanity meter are also shown off to some extent in the gameplay demo. It’s actually pretty interesting, and portrays the creepy mood and atmosphere the game’s going for pretty well. Take a look below if you’re interested in the game.
The Sinking City is due out on March 21, 2019 for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
