The Sinking City Gameplay Trailer Features Face Tentacles

Frogware's upcoming horror adventure game offers brief snippets of new gameplay.

Though Cyanide’s Call of Cthulhu may get by on name recognition alone, Frogwares Games’ The Sinking City has its own Eldritch spin on horror. A new gameplay trailer has been released, and it looks like PI Charles W. Reed is in some fairly deep trouble when he arrives in 1920s Oakmont, to say the least.

The city itself is flooded, and Reed is trying to find out why. Along the way, he’ll encounter various oddities and horrors while wrestling with his own rapidly deteriorating sanity. Along with Reed’s travels through Oakmont in a fishing boat, the gameplay trailer sees him shaving away tentacles that continually emerge from his face. By the end, everything seems normal… except for the tentacles withdrawing into the sink.

The Sinking City is currently scheduled to release on March 21st 2019 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Along with horror, the game promises an open world with plenty of investigating. To see more of the psychological horror the game is touting, check out the cinematic trailer from this year’s PC Gaming Show at E3.
