Waiting to hear the call of Cthulhu? While Call of Cthulhu: The Official Video Game has yet to receive a release date (though it’s apparently due this year), Frogwares’ Lovecraftian-inspired The Sinking City will be out on March 21st 2019. The news came after the recent cinematic trailer from the PC Gaming Show 2018 which touted the mind-bending horrors that could be expected.
Taking place in Oakmont, Massachusetts, the premise sees a private investigator looking into the constant flooding in the area. However, he soon discovers the residents being brain-washed as cultists and other monsters become a factor. Though there are options for self-defense in the game, Frogwares has clarified that fighting isn’t the primary objective.
Instead, you’ll be investigating various scenes and gathering clues to proceed. Given the developer’s experience with the Sherlock Holmes series, we’re looking forward to how The Sinking City handles it investigative aspects. It will be available for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
