The Super Mario Bros. Movie

Nintendo and Illumination Pictures debuted the second trailer for The Super Mario Bros. Movie at the latest Nintendo Direct. It features a redesigned Donkey Kong (who looks closer to the original concept art), Mario trying his best and Luigi screaming in terror. Check it out below.

Jack Black continues to kill it as Bowser, but Anya Taylor-Joy and Charlie Day, who voice Princess Peach and Luigi respectively, also get their time to shine. The story sees the Mushroom Kingdom rising to face Bowser’s invasion. However, for Mario, training is required to ensure he’s able to fight back.

Along with the Tanooki Suit and Fire Flower, we also catch a glimpse of Rainbow Road and various Karts as Mario seemingly rallies entire galaxies to their cause. It’s pretty epic and a definite step up from the first trailer. The Super Mario Bros. Movie is out in theaters on April 7th, 2023, worldwide and on April 28th in Japan.
