Deck13’s The Surge 2, like its predecessor, offers a unique route to getting the armor and weapons that you want. When you encounter an enemy, it’s possible to target different body parts. Severing them will provide a chance to craft the armor piece worn. In this way, you effectively become what you kill. Check out the trailer below to see what we mean.

There’s no doubt that certain weapons and armor sets will suit one’s style better than others. Further customization is also in play thanks to implants and armor set bonuses. Still, seeing an enemy with a particular helmet and beheading them to make it for yourself is pretty wicked.

The Surge 2 is out on September 24th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. The combat itself has undergone a couple of changes with drones, new weapon types, leaping over sweeping attacks, and more added into the game. Check out some more of the combat here.
