The Thing: Remastered Gets Showcased with New 4K Screenshots

The Thing: Remastered is celebrating the original game's 22nd anniversary with these new screenshots.

Developer Nightdive Studios is celebrating the 22nd anniversary of the North American release of the cult-classic horror game The Thing by releasing a new set of screenshots for The Thing: Remastered.

These screenshots help showcase the fact that The Thing: Remastered is aiming to be more of a faithful restoration of the classic game, rather than a reimagining that might change things around. The title will make use of Nightdive’s own KEX Engine, allowing it to be playable on modern systems at up to 4K and 120 FPS.

As part of the restoration, The Thing: Remastered will also feature improved models, textures and animations for the various characters and enemies that players will fight. The game will also feature advanced 3D rendering for more modern lighting and atmospheric effects.

Announced back in June, The Thing: Remastered is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch later this year. The game, as you might expect from its name, is based on the classic 1982 movie The Thing.
