Witcher 3 Hearts of Stone

In case you thought last year’s critically and commercially acclaimed The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt would be due for a PS4 Pro patch to allow for 4K upscaling and improved visuals, think again.

A Reddit user recently emailed CD Projekt RED about the possibility of such a patch. The studio responded that it had “no plans” for the same and that it was currently focusing on Gwent: The Witcher Card Game and its next big triple-A title Cyberpunk 2077.

Of course, it’s possible that future titles like Cyberpunk 2077 support PS4 Pro’s features but that – along with many other details – is confirmed at this time. It also remains to be seen what kind of market there is for the PS4 Pro when it releases in November.

Not that early adapters will want for games that support 4K upscaling – titles like Titanfall 2, Mass Effect: Andromeda and many more have already been confirmed while The Last of Us Remastered will run at native 4K resolution.
