Though it’s not involved with Gearbox’s New Tales From the Borderlands, Telltale Games has quite a lot in the pipeline. It recently showcased gameplay and story scenes from The Expanse: A Telltale Series, and plans to release the title in Summer 2023. Then there’s The Wolf Among Us 2, the long-awaited follow-up to the developer’s episodic adventure series.

It’s also releasing in 2023, which begs the question – will it arrive before or after The Expanse? Responding to a Twitter user about the same, the developer stated, “No answer to give there yet. But both are currently slated for 2023. Best we can say for now.”

The Wolf Among Us 2 was first announced in 2017 before the studio declared bankruptcy and shut down. It was re-announced at The Game Awards 2019 by the new Telltale Games (formed by LGC Entertainment) in collaboration with AdHoc Studio (consisting of former Telltale developers). However, development was restarted from scratch in Unreal Engine 4.

The progress of development at this point is unknown. In another tweet, Telltale said there wouldn’t be any more updates for The Wolf Among Us 2 “for a while.” “Gotta let the devs, dev. We are being super careful not to overhype, overly soon.”

The Wolf Among Us 2 is coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC via the Epic Games Store. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months, perhaps at The Game Awards 2022.
