After revealing the official box art for the same, Eidos Montreal has announced that its reboot of the franchise, the cross-generational Thief will be releasing on February 25th 2014 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4 and PC in North America and on February 28th in Europe. The developer also revealed a new trailer for the game in the lead-up to Gamescom 2013, which you can view above.

Thief has garnered a fair amount of attention, having been in development for several years before being revealed officially earlier this year. The will be a reboot and sees master thief Garrett return to a city plagued by, well, the plague and an authoritarian government. Garrett’s no saviour though – he’ll be focused on lining his pockets and stealing from the rich as always.

Thief will feature most of the weapons from the original games, along with the new Focus system which allows Garrett to effectively steal faster, hit harder and pick up on environmental objects to interact with (such as pipes to climb and candles to snuff out). Stay tuned for our coverage next week of Gamescom to learn more.
