Remnant II
The perfect showcase for Unreal Engine 5’s marquee features, Remnant II’s use of Nanite portrays a level of material complexity unrivalled by any other game. The wealth of environments on display throughout the game’s procedurally generated biomes is truly staggering. There is such a compelling level of detail in the game’s surface textures it’s almost as if every asset, every brick, every candlestick, every cobweb, everything is hand-crafted. This kind of geometric density is truly game changing. Remarkably, it appears Remnant II doesn’t utilise Lumen’s dynamic lighting, but Virtual Shadow Maps are evident in its crisp shadow detail. If you’re going to play one game to experience Unreal Engine 5, then Remnant II is it.
