#2. BATMAN: ARKHAM KNIGHT

Following up on a game that many regard one of the best ever made is an impossible order. The weight of expectations may have stacked the deck against Arkham Knight, but in spite of that, it stands tall on its own merit as an incredible achievement, and a fitting end to the Batman: Arkham saga. While the storyline involving the new villain was predictable, Arkham Knight still stood out thanks to the internal conflict within Batman that brings back his arch nemesis to the fore. Paired with breathtaking visuals that showcased the power of the then new next gen consoles, as well as a fully realized Gotham City, and gameplay that had been refined and polished to pitch perfection, Arkham Knight was a masterful and thrilling game – one that, honestly, would be far more fondly regarded if it was not a victim of timing (and an admittedly atrocious PC port).
