Destroying a plane using a grappling hook, hooking enemies on to trees, surfing on a Ferrari as it careens off a cliff before you grapple on to a passing jet and rodeo it into the sunset – these are just a few of the things you could perform in Just Cause 2 and that was on previous generation platforms. With Just Cause 3, Avalanche will no doubt look to top its previous brand of insanity in ways we’ve never imagined.

Will it have multiplayer? Not at launch but it may arrive somewhere down the line. Will it be 1080p/60 FPS? That’s anybody’s guess. Will it be a complete mess of insanity and destruction that will look as beautiful as it does tragic? We wouldn’t have put on this list if it didn’t.
