Bloodborne
When you really think about what makes a From Software game stand out, the visuals are usually the last thing named. This isn’t because they aren’t important – it’s simply because of the sheer terror and tension one must endure in other aspects of the game.
This isn’t the case with Bloodborne which puts it’s snarling beasties in full view of the player at all times. The environments are also full of intricately grotesque details – you can almost taste the algae from some of the swamps in the lower levels of the Chalice Dungeon. Whether its blood splatters, rust metal or the sharp perfection of each sword-swinging animation, Bloodborne looks amazing.
The question is: Will you have time to consider that while dying? Probably not.
