Mad Max
Avalanche Games’ other open world action extravaganza will revisit the wasteland and bring Mad Max back into our lives as he was meant to be (we’ll reserve judgment on the film until its release). While completely dissimilar to Just Cause 3 in terms of art direction, Mad Max’s visuals are meant to capture a dull post-apocalyptic future where dust is everywhere and your car is the ultimate means of survival.
The good news is that we’ll finally have that authentic car combat we’ve been wanting for so long, complete with the occasional, brutal close quarters fight. Whether Mad Max goes beyond that a la Borderlands and offers much trippier visuals down the line remains to be seen but right now, this realistic rendition of the wasteland has us waiting and watching.
