The Legend of Zelda Wii U
It’s a testament to the power of the Zelda franchise that Nintendo gave away one single teaser for The Legend of Zelda Wii U at E3 2014 and immediately impressed the world. It didn’t even have to show up personally at E3 to do it. However, this was the first time we heard about the new Zelda featuring a truly open world environment (keep in mind that the gargantuan worlds of Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess were still not considered open world).
Several months later, we came to see how Zelda Wii U’s open world mechanics will work. Travelling with Epona is much easier than before – you can essentially leave your trusty steed on auto-pilot and eliminate enemies with arrows from horseback. There are wide open spaces to explore, dungeons to travel to, bosses to fight and many annoying monsters to kill.
We’ve only seen a fraction of what the new Zelda has to offer us at this point. Is it too early to nominate it for Game of the Year 2015?
