Theory about the time span between Portal and Portal 2
Though it is clear that Portal takes place around the same time as Half Life, what is unclear however is whether Portal 2 occurs in the same time frame as Half Life 2 or somewhere in the future. Regardless, many fans have come up with their own theories, here is a possible explanation. At the beginning of Portal 2 she’s woken up first time after 50 days of sleep, however given there is a possibility that she was kept in a stasis like sleep, similar to what Gordon Freeman went through, in “The Final Hours of Portal 2”, the time span is revealed to be 50,000 years, which is highly improbable, but still possible.
