Event Horizon’s Tower of Time, which entered Steam Early Access last year, has launched and is now available for PC users. It’s retailing for $25 on Steam. As its visuals imply, Tower of Time is more of an old-school computer RPG and its story stretches over 50 hours.
As a group of adventurers venturing into a stranger tower, players will attempt to traverse 13 levels, battling roughly 150 enemy types along the way. There also 50 bosses to battle and though it’s an RPG, the combat takes several cues from real-time strategy titles. It’s possible to slow time during fights, draw shapes on enemies to use different skills and so on. There are five difficulties to choose from and tons of equipment to collect along the way.
There have been a variety of old-school computer RPGs over the past few years but Event Horizon’s effort has been especially interesting to follow. It’s gotten some decent user reviews on Steam but how it will measure up against the likes of Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire remains to be seen.
