UK Charts: Sleeping Dogs dethrones Guild Wars 2

Well what do you know?

Sleeping Dogs has topped the UK Charts for this week, in a very surprising way, considering it was moved out of the top position by Guild Wars 2 which has had good reception so far. Over review of Guild Wars 2 was full of praises for the game, too.

“This is one of the most amazing MMOs I have ever played, especially considering the fact that its free-to-play. ArenaNet has not only delivered on what they promised, but also surpassed my expectations,” wrote our author Leonid.

Sleeping Dogs is not slouch either with being a fantastic game bold enough to try a new setting. “Sleeping Dogs is a breath of fresh air for the open world genre, with the developer taking some risks with the setting but never really taking it one step further,” I wrote in my PC version review of the game.

“Square Enix climb back from No2 to No1 with ‘Sleeping Dogs’, notching up a third week at the Top since launch (-42%). Last week’s new No1, NCSoft’s ‘Guild Wars 2’ (-84%) drops to No6 this week. The lone new entry this week comes in at No2, EA’s ‘The Sims 3: Supernatural’ which is the 7th expansion pack for The Sims 3. Nintendo remain at No3 with ‘New Super Mario Bros. 2’ for 3DS (-40%), Sega remain at No4 with ‘London 2012: The Official Video Game’ (-41%) and Warner remain at No5 with ‘Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes’ (-35%),” reads the UKIE website.
