Ultra Street Fighter IV Allows for Playing as Past Character Versions

With all the updates to SFIV, now you can choose which edition to play as.

Capcom has announced a new feature for Ultra Street Fighter IV which could make a lot of fans very happy: You’ll now be able to choose which character version you’d like to play as from past editions of the game.

This includes Vanilla Street Fighter IV, Super Street Fighter IV, Super Street Fighter IV, Super Street Fighter IV AE, Super Street Fighter IV AE Ver. 2012 and Ultra Street Fighter IV. So if you’ve ever debated which character could beat which, now’s the time to finally settle the debate.

It may not seem like a big deal but with the number of changes and balances made throughout updates, some characters might be significantly better (or worse) in the past editions. Some players, like Daigo and Justin Wong, specialize in specific edition’s characters and it should be interesting to see future match-ups when you give each player their best fighter. What do you think of this feature? Let us know below.

Ultra Street Fighter IV will be out for consoles in June, while the PC version lands in August.
