Until Dawn’s Rumoured Remaster is Seemingly Developed by Virtuos

A former Virtuos employee's LinkedIn profile points to the port specialist studio's involvement in the horror game's rumoured remaster.

Prominent leaker billbil-kun recently claimed that Sony was set to announce either remaster of remake of acclaimed 2015 horror title Until Dawn soon, and new information may now have emerged ahead of its alleged announcement about its development.

As spotted by a user on Reddit, the LinkedIn profile of Naceri Lu – who was an associate animation director at port specialist studio Virtuos from December 2019 to March 2020 – states that one of the projects he worked on while at the studio was a “PC/Console” version of Until Dawn, suggesting that Virtuos has had at least some involvement in the rumoured remaster’s development. Interestingly, the aforementioned leak from billbil-kun claimed that its new version had been in development for at least a year, though Lu’s LinkedIn profile would suggest that the project has been in the works a lot longer.

Virtuos is also co-developing Konami’s upcoming remake, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.

Recently, Sony announced State of Play presentation for January 31, which will be over 40 minutes long and cover more than 15 upcoming games. It’s been claimed that the Until Dawn remaster will be one of several games to be announced at the showcase.

Sony recently announced that an Until Dawn movie is also in development.
