Singularity can end three different ways, but none of those endings can be called “happy” by any means, and no matter what, Renko inevitably ends up becoming the bad guy. He can either use the Time Manipulation Device to conquer the world himself, or he can become embroiled in a cold war against Demichev, or he can let the world descend into chaos, and then emerge as its new, tyrannical ruler.
